CHILDREN FROM MOLDOVA PRESENTED THEIR FIRST REPORT ON THE OBSERVANCE OF THEIR OWN RIGHTS
The first CHILDREN’S REPORT on the observance of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Moldova was launched in Chisinau, within a media event, with children being the main protagonists.

"We all have noticed that many rights are violated in our country and the children claim their rights," said Adriana Rosca (16) from Zgardesti village, Telenesti. Adriana says one of the most frequently violated right is the one to a family. "Because of parents' migration, many children remain home alone or in the care of grandparents, relatives, neighbors. This negatively influences their education. They need to take care for the whole household and have to give up their education, rest, and thus other child rights are violated," Adriana says. The emotional and physical violence met in many families negatively influence on the development of the child. "The phenomenon is also met in educational institutions, among youths from communities."

Este buletinul electronic al Grupului de Lucru al Copiilor pentru Monitorizarea Drepturilor Copilului in Moldova.

Prima editie a acestui buletin este lansata in ziua intrarii in vigoare a Legii Republicii Moldova cu privire la prevenirea si combaterea violentei in familie. Dreptul la protectie impotriva violentei este unul dintre drepturile pe care un grup de copii din Moldova si le-a propus pentru monitorizare timp de doi ani.

MOLDOVAN CHILDREN STARTED COLLECTING GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE RESPECT OF THEIR OWN RIGHTS.

The first Children Working Group on the monitoring of the Convention on the Rights of the Child gathered between 1 and 4 July 2008 in Chisinau, to launch a new initiative of collecting information about child rights in the Republic of Moldova.
The initiative is promoted by the Child Rights Information Center from Moldova and helps children express and make their opinions about child rights heard.

26 children, aged between 11 and 15 years, members of the Working Group on the Monitoring of the Convention on the Rights of the Child represent 12 regions of the country. They were selected through a national contest out of 200 candidates, opinion leaders or members of initiative groups in their community. The two monitoring reports for 2008 and 2009 that will be developed by the Children Working Group will be presented to the Government, Ministries, and representatives from local authorities and other adults who can contribute decisively to the realization of children's rights.

"MONITORUL OFICIAL al Drepturilor Copilului in Moldova" prezinta, in editia sa din iunie 2009, observatiile copiilor din Grupul de Lucru pentru Monitorizarea Drepturilor Copilului despre respectarea sau incalcarea Dreptului la Protectie impotriva Exploatarii prin Munca.

De asemenea, buletinul informativ al copiilor consemneaza, in marturii scrise si vorbite, evolutia lor ca persoane si ca grup de lucru pe parcursul implicarii, timp de un an, in initiativa de monitorizare a drepturilor copilului in Moldova.
